To help you out, I've gathered the most popular ones and put together this handy guide with all the answers. Whether you're wondering about what to wear, how to pose, or what to expect during your session, I've got you covered. Let's dive in and make sure you're fully prepared to capture some amazing senior portraits!
Top Questions for Seniors Portraits
These are the top questions that I answer all the time! If you still have questions that are not covered in here feel free to reach out!
What month should I take my senior portraits in?
You should aim to take your senior pictures in the three months leading up to your graduation month. This way, you'll have your full gallery ready in plenty of time to order invites and prints before your big day. My biggest piece of advice is to avoid booking your senior portraits in the same month you're graduating. It can be really risky because editing photos takes time, and if you wait until graduation month, there's no guarantee your gallery will be ready in time.
What should I wear to my senior portraits?
The most important thing to remember when choosing your outfit is to pick something that makes you feel completely comfortable!
For girls, popular choices include:
A white or black dress paired with heels and your cap and gown.
A school t-shirt with jeans for a relaxed look.
Opting for a fun or school-colored dress for a bit of personality.
Guys usually keep it simple and sharp with:
A button-up shirt, slacks, and dress shoes.
The key is to wear something that reflects your style and makes you feel confident during your photoshoot!
I'm awkward in front of the camera, do you help with poses?
Don't even worry about feeling awkward in front of the camera! Trust me, once we get started, you won't even notice it's there. I'll absolutely help you with posing and give you prompts to make you feel super confident. We've got this!
Can I bring anyone?
Yes, you can definitely bring one or two people with you to your shoot! I usually suggest not bringing more than that because having too many opinions can be overwhelming when we have limited time. Having a couple of friends or family members can be super helpful for carrying extra items and making you feel more comfortable.
But if you’d rather come alone, that’s totally fine too! If you don’t have anyone to bring or just don’t want the extra audience, no worries at all. We’ll have a blast, and I’ll be there to help with anything you need!
Can my friends be in the photos?
Yes, if you have a friend helping you out during the photoshoot, they can definitely hop into one or two photos with you. If you'd like your friends to be in more photos or if they want a couple of shots on their own, there will be an additional charge per person. This helps ensure that everyone gets the photos they want and keeps us on schedule!
Can I bring my pet?
100% yes!!! I love it when seniors bring their pets to their photoshoots. Pets are such an important part of your life, so why not include them in your pictures? Bringing your pet along creates the perfect opportunity for some adorable and candid moments with your furry friend!
How soon after my shoot will I get my photos?
Ok! So you will get a little sneak peek of your photos within 72 hours of your shoot! I know how exciting it is to see your photos, so this preview will give you a taste of what's to come. After that, your full gallery will be delivered within 3 weeks.
How should I use these photos after I get them back?
Once you get these photos and you pick all your favorites there are a couple things you can do with them.
First off, you can create awesome invites and announcements featuring your new photos. How cool would that be?
Then, show off your amazing achievement on social media! Share those photos with your family and friends because you deserve to be celebrated!
Of course, you can also order prints. I'm sure your parents will want to hang some of these beauties in their house!
And hey, don't forget about LinkedIn! It's the perfect chance to update your profile with a fresh, professional headshot just in time for job applications. Ready to make a great impression!
Where should I order prints from?
Once your full gallery is ready, I'll send it over to you, and guess what? Attached to the gallery is a print shop! I really recommend ordering through there or another good print shop. You've already invested in these amazing photos, so it's super important to invest in high-quality printing too! That way, your prints will be absolutely stunning and perfectly color-corrected.
